WARSAW MONO

WARSAW MONO

Typeface Design

The monospace sans-serif typeface I designed is a bold and rebellious font that draws inspiration from the brutalist and modernist architecture of 1980s Warsaw, as well as the underground movement of the Warsaw Uprising, specifically the Zoska Battalion. This influence gives the font a sense of resistance and defiance, questioning what a Polish underground aesthetic would look like in the face of the Soviet regime today.

The font features both uppercase and lowercase characters, all designed with a strong, geometric and uniform appearance, reminiscent of stenciled typesetting. The result is a typeface that feels simultaneously powerful and rebellious, with a sense of confidence and stability woven into its design.
